News 40 Weather | Heavy Rain, Severe Risks this Weekend

A STORMY FRIDAY It has been a rainy, stormy Friday. The severe threat is over for the night and we are expecting isolated showers overnight with mostly cloudy skies, though we should stay dry. STILL STORMY SATURDAY This unsettled weather pattern appears set to continue through at least Saturday. We can expect more heavy rain and thunderstorms, particularly during the morning as a cold front moves into Kentucky. There’s a chance we could see additional storm development in the afternoon, especially if there are any breaks in the cloud cover south of Bowling Green. For Saturday, a majority of our area is under a Level 2 Slight Risk, with more northern counties into a Level 1 Marginal Risk which reaches into Southern Indiana.
