Air quality once again took a hit early Friday as Unhealthy conditions were in place across much of the northern half of the area. Since then we have seen some improvement, but that smoke may continue to be close to the surface over the next few days.
Of interest, Friday morning brought dense fog for many, but there was an overlap zone where some of the smoke that caused the poor air quality mixed in. That technically led to some smog over parts of Central Illinois. There may be some more of this smog into the early hours of the day Saturday.
Rain chances are on the board once again Saturday, with a more widespread round expected than what we saw Friday. This round will likely be in play as early as mid-afternoon continuing on into much of the evening.
