MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — A Madisonville man told a police officer he had been texting and driving before being arrested on DUI and drug charges, according to MPD.

An officer said they spotted 54-year-old Ronald Cline driving Saturday afternoon, when he stopped in the road for a few seconds before pulling off and stopping.

The officer said they turned on their emergency lights and approached the vehicle, but that Cline was texting on his phone.

The police report says Cline told the officer he had been texting and driving.

Officers say Cline appeared to be under the influence, and that they could smell burnt marijuana. During a search of the car, police say they found pills.
