NEW YORK (WBNG) -- New York State Senator Lea Webb is pushing for the state to adopt assessments in domestic violence cases that paint a clearer picture of a victim’s risk.
The assessments, used by law enforcement, allow them to identify people who are at a high risk of serious injury or death from their partners. Senator Webb is sponsoring a bill to mandate these assessments during all domestic violence responses.
The Senator said the tool focuses on prevention to save the lives of victims before it’s too late.
