INDIANAPOLIS — Two men have been sentenced for their roles in a 2023 robbery-turned fatal shooting on Indianapolis' north side, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office announced Thursday, May 29.

Jeremiah Shanks was found guilty of two counts of murder, as well as robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon in the death of Elijah Martin.

Adrian Bond was convicted of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and armed robbery.

Both Shanks and Bond, who were 18 at the time they were charged in August 2023, were convicted May 16 after a three-day jury trial.

On May 29, Shanks was sentenced to 62 years in prison, while Bond was sentenced to 23 years for his role in the crime.
