At the Tuesday night Santa Maria City Council meeting, councilmembers will hear a report from Assistant City Manager Chuen Wu on recent actions and associated costs involved with assisting the city's homeless population.

Multiple City departments respond to the impacts of encampments and the homeless, and Santa Maria spends over $1 million annually addressing homelessness and encampments through public safety efforts, clean-ups, and funds to non-profit service providers, according to staff.

Tuesday night's presentation will contain a breakdown of services, and associated costs from city departments, alongside a list of goals and action items associated with the collective effort.
