The cross-examination of star witness Cassie Ventura in the Sean Combs trial was always going to be intense, but it started with even more drama than anticipated: There was a massive fight between counsel parties, as the defense insisted they might need the 8-plus-months-pregnant star witness to continue through to Monday, while the prosecution said that this would be the last week Cassie would take the stand. The delay was at least partly due to Combs’ lawyer Anna Estevao’s tedious and unorganized questioning, and the prosecution went as far as to accuse the defense of attempting to trigger a mistrial, which would happen if she were to go into labor before completing her testimony.
