Two people were killed in a shooting in the Fairwood and Robandee neighborhood in south Kansas City on Friday evening, police said.
Officers were initially called shortly before 7:30 p.m. to the area of East 92nd Terrace and James A. Reed Road for an injury accident, and while they were on their way to the scene, the call was upgraded to a shooting with a victim, said Capt. Jake Becchina, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department. Officers found a man in the area who had been shot, outside a vehicle, he said.
Officers were also notified of another vehicle that had crashed near the intersection of East 93rd Street and James A. Reed Road, and there they found a vehicle with another man who had been shot.
Both men were declared dead at the scene Friday evening, Becchina said.
