The long-awaited revitalization of Lompoc's College Park skate facility is moving forward, with city officials preparing to open the project for construction bids in the coming weeks and kick off construction as early as this summer.

The $3.6 million endeavor, funded by a state grant, aims to transform the existing 9,500-square-foot skate park into a modern 15,500-square-foot facility packed with new community amenities.

"We’re about 95% done with the plan check, and once approved by the City, we’ll go out to RFP," said Interim Community Development Director Mario Guerrero Jr.
