HOBOKEN, N.J. (PIX11) – NJ Transit is back up and running on Tuesday after a strike shut it down for four days.

Members of the Brotherhood Of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen called an end to the strike on Sunday when a tentative contract deal was reached. The resolution came after a meeting with a federal mediator, where wages were a sticking point.

As negotiations took place, around 350,000 travelers who rely on NJ Transit daily had their commute time more than tripled because of bus traffic and congestion.

NJ Transit is holding a news conference at 6:45 a.m. to discuss the tentative deal. The deal still needs to be voted on by union members.
