PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - One day after a man entered Monache High and stabbed a student, the school received another threat - this time, about a shooting, the Porterville Police Department said.
On Tuesday, officers say a photograph began circulating online that showed a gun pointed at a television. It was captioned with a threat indicating that a school shooting was to occur at Monache High School on Wednesday.
Around 7:40 p.m., police started receiving tips. After working throughout the night, detectives say they were able to identify the suspect as a 16-year-old Monache High School student from Woodville.
Police say the student was arrested and charged with criminal threats and was booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility.
