FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An incarcerated person from Fresno County has been accused of attempted homicide of an officer at a California Medical Facility, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announced.
Federal officials say on Wednesday, at around 10:10 a.m., Dannunzio Patron, an incarcerated person from Fresno County, allegedly attacked a correctional officer with an improvised weapon during a cell extraction.
During the incident, officers say they utilized physical force to quell the incident, but one of them sustained lacerations to his left forearm from the weapon, and two responding members reported knee pain. The injured officers were transported to an outside medical facility for treatment.
