An Atlantic City man admitted Monday possessing a handgun during a traffic stop in Hamilton Township nearly four years ago, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Thomas Jordan, 34, faces up to five years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 19 before Superior Court Judge Dorothy Garrabrant.

Officers stopped Jordan's vehicle after seeing him commit multiple traffic offenses Dec. 26, 2021, the Prosecutor's Office said Thursday in a news release.

Police found a handgun in searching the vehicle, the Prosecutor's Office said.
