Throughout last week and early this week, Fontana Police Department officers investigated a home invasion, assault with a deadly weapon, an under-the-influence case and a fatal traffic collision.

At approximately 1:08 p.m. May 14, officers were dispatched to the 16200 block of Dianthus Street to investigate a recent home invasion. When authorities spoke with the 75-year-old female victim, she explained that while sitting on her front porch, the suspect allegedly approached her and claimed to be with a water company. The suspect reportedly had an identification card on a lanyard, a clipboard and a water company polo shirt.
