A Pleasantville man who admitted shooting another man during a fight in Atlantic City two years ago was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Jayce F. Thomas, 34, pleaded guilty in March to aggravated assault and certain persons not to possess weapons. He must serve 85% of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
Officers responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, on April 30, 2023, after the victim was shot in the abdomen and drove himself to the hospital, the Prosecutor's Office said Friday in a news release.
Surveillance video showed the victim and Thomas arguing near a parked car on South Bellevue Avenue. Police found a 9mm shell casing on the ground near where the two men fought, the Prosecutor's Office
