Moorhead, MN (KFGO) – Moorhead Police and Fire, and Clay County Sheriff’s Department personnel responded to the Moorhead Airport after being alerted to a possible crash Friday morning.
The alert came through a cell phone’s crash detection feature.
Emergency crews couldn’t find a crash and determined a pilot left his cell phone on the outside of the airplane. When the pilot took off to do flyover training at Hector Field in Fargo, the phone fell and signaled a crash took place.
After a search, Clay County deputies found the phone near the west end of the runway.
Emergency crews cleared the scene before the pilot returned to the airport.
