WASHINGTON — The last 444 Joann stores will close by May 31, joining the dozens of locations that shuttered since the company filed for bankruptcy again.

The fabrics and crafts retailer announced earlier this year that it would close all locations around the U.S . after it filed for bankruptcy in January 2025. It was the second time Joann declared bankruptcy in less than a year.

Joann confirmed in a statement that it planned to close the last stores by the end of May, with many closing sooner. More than 100 locations closed at the end of April.

Jo Anne McCusker, a GA Group spokesperson, said all remaining stores will be closed by May 31. Most locations had begun their going-out-of-business sales in February and many still have some ongoing to clear product.
