On April 15, former San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich was rushed to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency at a Ruth’s Chris Steak House in the San Antonio-area. On Friday, TMZ released audio from a bystander’s 911 call.

The man initially claimed Popovich wasn’t responding to them but quickly provided an update, saying Popovich was “barely responding.” The caller also said that Popovich had “passed out.”

Medics responded to the scene and transported Popovich to a nearby hospital. A source reportedly told TMZ that Popovich’s medical emergency at the restaurant was a result of the stroke he suffered five games into the 2024-25 NBA season on Nov. 2, 2024.
