MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A driver in Merced County was arrested after being found behind the wheel nearly five times the legal limit, Merced CHP announced Saturday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers stopped a driver on Highway 99 after spotting their vehicle weave across lanes.

Officers reported the driver was eventually determined to have a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) nearly five times the legal limit. The photo above shows the suspect in the back seat of a CHP vehicle.

Merced CHP says that DUI crashes are preventable, emphasizing that if you are drinking, do not drive.
