A triple shooting outside a business on Troost Avenue left one man dead and two others injured Saturday evening in Kansas City, a police spokeswoman said.

Officers responded shortly after 9:30 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 5500 block of Troost Avenue , according to Officer Alayna Gonzalez with the Kansas City Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found the shooting scene in a parking lot of a nearby business. However, officers learned three victims had already been driven to a hospital with gunshot wounds, Gonzalez said.

One of the victims, a man, was unresponsive when he arrived at the hospital and was pronounced dead by hospital staff, Gonzalez said. The two other victims, a woman and a man, had non-life-threatening injuries.
