After losing former head coach Pierre Coffey this week to Stewart County, Carver-Columbus has hired head coach Jarvis Jones to take over the program. Jones starred at Carver-Columbus, where he was a former four-star recruit, an all-state basketball player and played in the prestigious US Army All-American game.

He was coached by former head coach Dell McGee, who led Carver-Columbus to its first-ever state championship in 2007, and now he assumes the same role.

Jones went on to star at Georgia, where he finished his collegiate career with 168 tackles, 47 tackles for loss, 28 sacks and nine forced fumbles.
