LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - After a hot and mostly dry Sunday with temperatures in the 90s, high humidity settles back in overnight. Temperatures will settle in the 70s with just a few clouds in the sky. Memorial Day will start out humid and dry buy temperatures climb quickly. Most of the area will reach the 90s. A few storms develop in the afternoon hours.
This week, we will keep a close watch on heavy rainfall potential beginning Tuesday. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms look to push through Acadiana with much of the area seeing between two and five inches of rain. A few areas may get more than that if storms stall out. A low-end severe threat will exist each afternoon Tuesday through Friday for strong winds and hail. Temperatures will hold in the mid 80s.
