BOISE, Idaho — Tony Park, who served as Idaho's attorney general in the early 1970s, died Friday, May 23, at his residence in Boise. He was 90 years old.

Park held the state's highest legal position from 1971 to 1975, during which he created the Environmental Protection Division and launched the Consumer Protection program. He later led the Idaho Centennial Commission as its chairman.

David Bieter, Boise's former mayor and a longtime friend, praised Park's character and contributions.

"Tony Park helped us all see our city, state, and country in the best possible light," Bieter said.
