SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane City Council is searching for applicants for the city's expected open District 2 seat.

Lilli Navarrete, who currently holds the District 2 Seat 2 position, announced her resignation last week, saying that it was "time for me to move on to new challenges and opportunities."

Navarrete's planned resignation is expected to take effect July 1, 2025, leaving the seat open for the next candidate.

The application period for Navarrete's seat opened Friday, May 23. Applications are available online on the City of Spokane's website, City Council offices on the 7th floor of City Hall and the MySpokane service desk, which is on the first floor of City Hall.
