SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs honored fallen service members on Monday at its annual Memorial Day program in Sioux Falls.

Dozens gathered at the State Veterans Cemetery to remember the sacrifices of military men and women who gave their lives for our nation.

Families, veterans, and citizens paused to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, with many calling the day personal.

“It means everything to me. I have many, many family members that have come and gone that served our country, including my wife, who has passed. And it just brings back the feeling of camaraderie with all the brothers and sisters I served with,” said U.S. Navy Veteran Arthur Wesman.
