WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says it has received multiple reports of people receiving fake texts for outstanding unpaid traffic tickets.
The sheriff’s office said these messages are spam and you should not respond or follow the link to pay.
Traffic citations are paid at the Williamson County Circuit Clerk’s Office in the courthouse.
The sheriff’s office said it does not ask for money over the phone, and no cash bond is generally required in Illinois criminal cases.
