FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was hospitalized after being shot in the parking lot of a Fresno pizzeria Monday evening, the Fresno Police Department said.

Officers say they received a report of a man who had been shot around 8 p.m. at the Little Caesars on Fresno and B streets.

Police say the victim was found about four miles up the road at the Vallarta Supermarket on Clinton and Weber avenues, suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower leg. He was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover.

According to a preliminary investigation, the man was sitting in a pick-up truck at the Little Caesars when he was shot at by a group of two to three men. Investigators say the driver then fled about four miles north to the Vallarta parking lot.
