ATLANTA — Georgia Congressman Hank Johnson is sounding the alarm over a sweeping tax and spending bill recently passed by the U.S. House. In an interview with 11Alive, the longtime congressman called it a "big ugly bill" that favors the ultra-wealthy while gutting vital programs for working families, children, and seniors.

Johnson joins a list of his Democratic colleagues, criticizing the legislation, which includes cuts to Medicaid and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), while simultaneously providing what he describes as "the biggest tax cut in history to billionaires and greedy corporations."
