WAIANAE, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) arrested a man after an apparent kidnapping incident occurred in the Waianae area on Sunday.

According to HPD highlights, the initial incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. when a 29-year-old man got into an argument with a 51-year-old man which later escalated to a physical altercation.

During the altercation, a 43-year-old woman was told she couldn’t leave. Eventually the woman was able to leave and reported the incident away from the scene.

The 29-year-old man was later located, positively identified, and placed under arrest for Kidnapping and Assault in the Third Degree at 10:08 p.m.

The 29-year-old man remains in police custody, pending investigation.
