SEATTLE — More than 274,000 Washingtonians could lose health insurance coverage over the next decade if President Donald Trump signs a Republican-backed tax and spending bill into law, according to recent non-partisan analysis .
U.S. Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, both Democrats, joined a coalition of health care providers, patients and advocates at a Tuesday press conference to denounce the legislation, which includes nearly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.
The bill, passed by the House last week and under Senate review, is expected to be signed into law in early July .
