Andrew and Tristan Tate, the controversial influencer siblings, are facing serious charges in the United Kingdom, including rape and human trafficking. Prosecutors announced the charges on Wednesday, marking a significant development in a case that has drawn international attention.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that a European arrest warrant was issued for the Tates last year. Romanian courts have also ordered their extradition to the UK once their ongoing legal proceedings in Romania are resolved.
Andrew Tate, 38, is charged with multiple offenses related to three women. These charges include rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain. His brother, Tristan Tate, 36, faces charges concerning one woman, which include rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm.
The Tates, who hold dual citizenship in the U.S. and the UK, were arrested in Romania in late 2022. They were formally indicted last year for allegedly running a criminal operation that lured women to Romania, where they were reportedly sexually exploited. Andrew Tate has also been charged with rape in this context.
Despite the serious nature of the allegations, both brothers deny all charges against them. The warrant issued by Bedfordshire Police pertains to incidents that allegedly occurred between 2012 and 2015.
The current whereabouts of the Tates remain unclear. They were recently seen outside a police station in Voluntari, Romania, where they are required to report regularly as part of their legal obligations while facing charges in that country.
