“Plant Like a Floridian” workshop: Residents are invited to learn how to protect Florida’s natural beauty and waterways during a free workshop hosted by the ReGrow Volusia program. Attendees will learn about Florida-native landscape plants and trees, water-wise gardening practices, and Volusia County’s fertilizer ordinance. Participants will also take part in a short walk through the refuge’s native plant garden to identify landscaping options suited for Florida’s environment. Following the workshop, an optional ranger-guided, half-mile hike through the refuge will be available.
