OMAHA, Neb. —

The Jays are ready for the Road to Omaha.

Creighton baseball departed for the Fayetteville Regional and fans lined up on the campus Wednesday to send the team off.

Road to Omaha:

"It was fun to watch. I get choked up, watching little kids' excitement. I think it's exceptional. And they're grooming the next generation to be Creighton fans. I mean, for good reason," Jim Hougas, a Creighton fan for 50 years, said.

CU is making the program's first regional appearance since 2019 in head coach Ed Servais' final season.

The Bluejays will face Kansas on Friday night at 7 p.m. in their first game of the regional.

CU defeated UConn to claim the Big East tournament championship .

Creighton is the only Big East program in the 64-team field.
