FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said an officer within the department was arrested after he allegedly broke into a home while under the influence on May 27.

On the morning of May 27, a caller reported to police that an unknown man was banging on their front door and repeatedly asking for a woman by name.

Before police arrived, the man allegedly forced himself into the residence and asked for the woman by name, according to Fall River police. The resident informed the man that the woman did not live at the home, and he proceeded to leave on foot.

Once officers arrived, the complainant described the suspect to police, and said he was heavy intoxicated and “appeared to be confused or mistaken about the location.”
