A man and woman are dead after an argument erupted into gunfire Wednesday in the Fairlane neighborhood of south Kansas City, a police spokesman said.
Officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 9600 block of Freemont Avenue , said Sgt. Phil DiMartino with the Kansas City Police Department.
Once officers arrived, they were directed to the driveway of a home in the neighborhood where they found a man and a woman who had been shot, DiMartino said.
While initiating life-saving measures, officers requested that emergency medical services respond. The medical crew pronounced both of the victims dead at the scene.
