During playoff season, I wrote about how offensive tackle Dion Dawkins of the Buffalo Bills pitched the idea for a yearly award for offensive lineman. Basically, Dawkins’ argument was that other positions get a “best of the best” award that offensive lineman deserved that same recognition.
The NFL seemed to agree with the idea, as the award has been created, giving fans one more thing to pay attention to during the 2025 NFL season. Interestingly enough, this award will be chosen by former offensive lineman, providing credibility to an award granted to a position that many struggle to evaluate.
