Charleston deputies make arrest after tip on sexual exploitation of a minor

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office says a cyber tip led to the arrest of a person charged with uploading a sexually explicit video showing a young child.

Jillian Johnell Maxner, 43, is charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to jail records.

Maxner has since been released on a $25,000 bond, jail records state.

An affidavit states that investigators received a tip about the video showing a girl estimated to be between the ages of 9 and 11 years old. The tip led to a search warrant on the IP address for a Kik user who reportedly uploaded the video, court documents state.

That led authorities to Maxner’s home, sheriff’s spokesperson Lexi Douglas said.
