What began as a personal book collection in the 1960s is now a valued community resource, providing books, activities and meeting spaces for residents of Shrewsbury.

On Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m., the Shrewsbury Library will celebrate 50 years in operation with a panel discussion and reception to follow.
