DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Dorchester County coroner has identified the Greenville man who died after being struck by a vehicle that left the scene last week.
Zinja Devine, 61, of Greenville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Friday morning at approximately 7:40 a.m., Coroner Paul Brouthers said.
Authorities say Devine was illegally walking along the westbound side of I-26 at the 180-mile marker when an automobile struck him and then left the scene.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Nick Pye said the hit-and-run happened shortly after midnight that morning.
There has been no word on any arrests or a description of the vehicle believed to have been involved.
