WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) -- Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is promoting the "Great American Road Trip" as his department rolls out a new website to encourage Americans to hit the road.

"There's nothing more Americana than a road trip," Duffy said Thursday outside the Transportation Department.

The DOT is celebrating America's 250th birthday next year by promoting 250 road trip destinations.

"To love America is to see America," Duffy said.

The new site lists out those dozens of trips throughout the U.S.

"Love what the secretary is doing and what the administration is doing to encourage Americans to get out there and travel," RV Industry Association Marketing VP Jeremy Greene said.

Car companies and American-made vehicles were on display Thursday for the launch.
