UNION COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced that Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available for residents in six Kentucky counties impacted by severe storms in May.
President Trump approved Gov. Beshear's request for a major disaster declaration on May 23, which includes aid for Caldwell, Laurel, Pulaski, Russell, Trigg, and Union counties.
"This assistance is critical for those unable to work due to the storm's impact," Gov. Beshear said.
Eligible individuals, including unemployed and self-employed residents affected by the storms on May 16-17, can apply for DUA through the Kentucky Office of Unemployment Insurance.
DUA is available to those who lost work or had their employment interrupted due to disaster-related damage or closures.
