PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A new poll suggests Gov. Dan McKee is in serious political peril as he prepares to seek reelection next year.
The latest "Ocean State Poll" by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center pegs McKee's job approval rating at just 19%, down from 29% a year ago in the same survey. His disapproval rating in the poll was 71%, while 9% expressed no opinion.
The survey also finds strong opposition to McKee's plan to run for another term in 2026. Just 11% of those polled said the governor deserves to be reelected, while 74% said he does not, including 60% of Democrats.
