FARGO — The Hillsboro/Central Valley fans erupted with glee watching third baseman Carsi Hatlestad circle the bases for her second time of the afternoon.

Hatlestad plunked two solo home runs to left-center field to help lift HCV past the No. 3 Velva/Drake-Anamoose Aggies 15-3 in the North Dakota Class B softball quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon, at Tharaldson Park on the campus of North Dakota State University.

“I knew I had to swing and they connected well,” Hatlestad said.

Hatlestad jolted her first to tie the game in the second inning. She seeded another as part of a five-run fifth inning for the Burros.

HCV’s Kailee Kittelson joined the party and barrelled a two-run home run past the left field wall to score Peyton Quam, who led off the fifth inning with a double.
