BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - As the weather heats up and you find yourself lounging by the pool more, Bryan-College Station aquatic experts are urging parents and guardians to keep an eye on their little ones.

The summer months often means more time by the pool but with that comes risks. According to the CDC , 4,000 people die every year in the U.S. That’s around 11 drowning-related deaths per day. But there are steps you can take to prevent a water tragedy.

“I always do highly suggest that making sure that people with backyard pools make sure their door into the backyard is kind of heavier and the knob is higher so kids can’t reach, and then a fence around pools is always awesome,” advised City of College Station
