The University of Michigan Medical School has retracted a recently created requirement that would have made faculty with “professionalism issues” ineligible to run for seats in the University’s Senate Assembly . This policy, originally announced in an email sent to some Medical School faculty, was opposed by the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs and other faculty members. The requirement was dropped for Senate Assembly elections but will be upheld for internal Medical School elections.
