Fort Wayne juvenile shot following altercation over vape pen cartridge sale

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A juvenile in Fort Wayne is recovering after a shooting over a vape pen cartridge Wednesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Allen County Sheriff's Department , around 4:16 p.m. on May 28, deputies responded to the 1000 block of Townsend Run , which is in a neighborhood near Bass Road and West Hamilton Road North on the far west side of Fort Wayne, on a report of a disturbance involving juveniles.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Police later recovered a firearm at the scene.
