BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Comcast-Xfinity broke ground in Bryan-College Station. They hope to help the community and rural areas stay connected with a fiber-optic network and give locals another choice for their utility bills.

“It’s so exciting to be here in Bryan College Station today, we’re celebrating a big milestone. The groundbreaking for our fiber-optic project to bring services throughout the community,” explained Nicolas Jimenez, General Market Manager for Bryan-College Station. “We’re going to be able to deliver multi-gigabit symmetrical speeds, the fastest internet around, and a whole bunch of amazing services like mobile phone, video, home security for homes and businesses.”

Xfinity officials say customers could get fiber optic access as soon as September. (KBTX)
