A federal judge in Boston said Thursday that she would issue an injunction to prevent the government from revoking Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students while the school’s battle with the Trump administration unfolds.
US District Judge Allison D. Burroughs said an order was necessary because “it gives some protection to international students who might be anxious about coming here or anxious about remaining here once they are here.”
She rejected the Justice Department’s claim that an order wasn’t needed because the government had backpedaled on its vow to immediately take action against Harvard. That backpedaling came in the form of a notification Wednesday night from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that Harvard now has 30 days to appeal the go
