CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - A man involved in a hit-and-run and subsequent manhunt on Sullivan’s Island is now facing new charges in connection to the May 1 incident.

Justin Collin Adams, 36, is now facing three new charges of first-degree assault and battery. That is in addition to the three counts of attempted murder and two counts of first degree assault and battery he was originally charged with right after the incident.

These new charges stem from his alleged driving onto the playground of Sunrise Presbyterian School around 12:50 p.m. that day.

Affidavits state that, in addition to the other victims, two 12-year-olds and an 11-year-old had to run for their lives to avoid being struck by the vehicle, a black 2018 Chevrolet Malibu.
