The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is currently in talks geared toward reassuming control over prison facilities statewide, most of which are currently under contract with Management & Training Corporation (MTC), with the exception of MTC-owned and Henderson-based East Texas Treatment Facility.

"While we have not yet received official confirmation regarding the transfer of MTC’s contracts back to the state for operation, we have been in discussions with TDCJ regarding the potential transition of our facilities," said MTC representatives of the impending change.
